For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith--and this not from yourselves , it is the gift of God-- not by works, so that no one can boast. Ephesians 2:8 & 9

The god of this age (Satan) has blinded the minds of unbelievers, so that they cannot see the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God.  2 Corinthians. 4:4

The man without the Spirit does not accept the things that come from the Spirit of God, for they are foolishness to him, and he cannot understand them, because they are spiritually discerned.  1 Corinthians 2:12-15

Then he (Jesus Christ) opened their minds so they could understand the Scriptures.  Luke 24:45

Every word of God is flawless; he is a shield to those who take refuge in him. Proverbs 30:5

I (Apostle Paul) am not ashamed of the gospel, because it is the power of God for the salvation of everyone who believes: first for the Jew, then for the Gentile.  Romans 1:16

The LORD said to Moses, "Come up to me on the mountain and stay here, and I will give you the tablets of stone, with the law and commands I have written for their instruction."   Exodus 24:12

"Where were you when I (God) laid the earth's foundation? Tell me, if you understand".  Job 38:4

  3.  Joining a church membership is definitely the only way to heaven --

In reply Jesus declared, "I tell you the truth, no one can see the kingdom of God unless he is born again." John 3:3

And (Jesus Christ) said, " Verily I say unto you, Except ye be converted, and become as little children, ye shall not enter into the kingdom of heaven."   Matthew 18:3

Yet to all who received him (Jesus Christ), to those who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God.   John 1:12

For Christ did not send me (Apostle Paul) to baptize, but to preach the gospel- -not with words of human wisdom, lest the cross of Christ be emptied of its power. For the message of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God. 1 Corinthians 1:17&18

(Jesus Christ speaking)  "For false Christs and false prophets will appear and perform great signs and miracles to deceive even the elect- -if that were possible."  Matthew 24:24

See to it that no one takes you captive through hollow and deceptive philosophy, which depends on human tradition and the basic principles of this world rather than on Christ.  Colossians 2:8

"Why do your disciples break the tradition of the elders? They don't wash their hands before they eat!" Jesus replied, "And why do you break the  command of God for the sake of your tradition? he is not to `honor his father ' with it. Thus you nullify the word of God for the sake of your tradition." Matthew 15:2&3&6

(Jesus Christ speaking)  "These people honor me with their lips, but their hearts are far from me. They worship me in vain; their teachings are but rules taught by men."   Matthew 15:8&9

(Jesus Christ speaking)  "And other sheep I have, which are not of this fold: them also I must bring, and they shall hear my voice; and there shall be one fold, and one shepherd."   John 10:16

"I (Jesus Christ) tell you, no! But unless you repent , you too will all perish." Luke 13:55

Then they asked him, "What must we do to do the works God requires?" Jesus answered, "The work of God is this: to believe in the one he has sent." John 6:28 & 29

Know that a man is not justified by observing the law, but by faith in Jesus Christ. Galatians 2:16

(Jesus Christ speaking) Blind Pharisee (religious ruler)! First clean the inside of the cup and dish, and then the outside also will be clean. "Woe to you, teachers of the law and Pharisees, you hypocrites! You are like whitewashed tombs, which look beautiful on the outside but on the inside are full of dead men's bones and everything unclean. In the same way, on the outside you appear to people as righteous but on the inside you are full of hypocrisy and  wickedness."  Matthew 23: 26-28

Jesus said to her, "I am the resurrection and the life. He who believes in me will live, even though he dies;"  John 11:25

When Jesus saw their faith, he said, "Friend, your sins are forgiven".  And the scribes and the Pharisees began to reason, saying, Who is this which speaks blasphemies? Who can forgive sins, but God alone?
Luke 5:20&21

"I (Jesus Christ) and my Father are one."  John 17:30

(Jesus Christ speaking)  "And now, Father, glorify me (Jesus Christ) in your presence with the glory I had with you before the world began."  John 17:5

I and the Father are one." Again the Jews picked up stones to stone him, but Jesus said to them, "I have shown you  many great miracles from the Father. (Jesus Christ speaking)  "But if I (Jesus Christ) do it, even though you do not believe me, believe the miracles, that you may know and understand that the Father is in me, and I in the Father."   John 10:38

The people were all so amazed that they asked each other, "What is this? A new teaching--and with authority! He (Jesus Christ) even gives orders to evil spirits and they obey him."  Mark 1:27

After his suffering (Jesus Christ's death on the cross), he showed himself to these men and gave many convincing proofs that he was alive. He appeared to them over a period of forty days and spoke about the kingdom of God.  Acts 1:3

(Jesus Christ speaking)  "For my Father's will is that everyone who looks to the Son and believes in him shall have eternal life,  and I (Jesus Christ) will raise him up at the last day."  John 6:40

  5.  Jesus Christ was murdered against his will --

Who (Jesus Christ) gave himself for our sins to rescue us from the present evil age, according to the will of our God and Father 
Galatians 1:4

Who (Jesus Christ) gave himself for us to redeem us from all wickedness and to purify for himself a people that are his very own , eager to do what is good.  Titus 2:14

Who (Jesus Christ) gave himself as a ransom for all men--the testimony given in its proper time. 1 Timothy 2:6

God made him (Jesus Christ) who knew no sin to be sin for us, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God.
2 Corinthians 5:21

And live a life of love, just as Christ loved us and gave himself up for us as a fragrant offering and sacrifice to God.   Ephesians 5:2  

  6.  People can instinctively know what the Bible says without reading it --

(Jesus Christ speaking)  He said, "The knowledge of the secrets of the kingdom of God has been given to you, but to others I speak in parables, so that, though seeing, they may not see; though hearing, they may not understand." Luke 8:10

"I do not accept praise from men, but I know you. I know that you do not have the love of God in your hearts."   John 5:38-42

  7.  People are basically good  --

All have turned away , they have together become worthless; there is no one who does good, not even one."  Romans 3:12

Therefore, just as sin entered the world through one man (Adam), and death through sin, and in this way death came to all men, because all sinned -- for before the law was given, sin was in the world.  Romans 5:12-13

All of us have become like one who is unclean, and all our righteous acts are like filthy rags; Isaiah 64:6

For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.  Romans 6:23

(God speaking) Ah, sinful nation, a people loaded with guilt, a brood of evildoers, children given to corruption! They have forsaken the LORD; they have spurned the Holy One of Israel (Jesus Christ) and turned their backs on him.   Isaiah 1:4

All day long I (God) have held out my hands to an obstinate people , who walk in ways not good, pursuing their own imaginations.
Isaiah 65:2

  8.  Born Again Christians are new fanatics to this 21st century -- John chapter 3   1 Now there was a man of the Pharisees (religious ruler) , named Nicodemus, a member of the Jewish ruling council. 2 He came to Jesus at night and said, "Rabbi, we know you are a teacher who has come from God.  For no one could perform the miraculous signs you are doing if God were not with him."

3 In reply Jesus declared, "I tell you the truth, no one can see the kingdom of God unless he is born again."

4 "How can a man be born when he is old?" Nicodemus asked.  Surely he cannot enter a second time into his mother's womb to be born!" 5 Jesus answered, "I tell you the truth, no one can enter the kingdom of God unless he is born of water and the Spirit. 6 Flesh gives birth to flesh, but the Spirit gives birth to spirit. 7 You should not be surprised at my saying, You must be born again. ' 8 The wind blows wherever it pleases. You hear its sound, but you cannot tell where it comes from or where it is going.  So it is with everyone born of the Spirit."

 9 "How can this be?"  Nicodemus asked.

 10 "You are Israel's teacher," said Jesus, "and do you not understand these things? 11 I tell you the truth, we speak of what we know, and we testify to what we have seen, but still you people do not accept our testimony.  12 I have spoken to you of earthly things and you do not believe; how then will you believe if I speak of heavenly things? 13 No one has ever gone into heaven except the one who came from heaven - the Son of Man. 14 Just as Moses lifted up the snake in the desert, so the Son of Man must be lifted up,  15 That everyone who believes in him may have eternal life".

16 "For God so loved the world, that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. 17 For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him. 18 Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe stands condemned already because he has not believed in the name of God's one and only Son. 19 This is the verdict: Light has come into the world, but men loved darkness instead of light because their deeds were evil." John 3:1-19

  9.  Any person who calls themself a Christian is going to heaven --

In reply Jesus declared, "I tell you the truth, no one can see the kingdom of God unless he is born again". John 3:3

(Jesus Christ speaking)  "Why do you call me, `Lord, Lord,' and do not do what I say? I will show you what he is like who comes to me and hears my words and puts them into practice. But the one who hears my words and does not put them into practice is like a man...." (see Bible reference)  Luke 6:46-49

Anyone who runs ahead and does not continue in the teaching of Christ does not have God ; whoever continues in the teaching has both the Father and the Son.  2 John 1:9

Repent!   Turn away from all your offenses, then sin will not be your downfall.  Rid yourselves of all the offenses you have committed, and get a new heart and a new spirit.  Ezekiel 18:30

So then, just as you received Christ Jesus as Lord, continue to live in him, Colossians 2:6

  10.  Hell is not a real place with fire and torment --

(Jesus Christ speaking)  "This is how it will be at the end of the age. The angels will come and separate the wicked from the righteous and throw them into the fiery furnace, where there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth."     Matthew 13:49&50

And the devil, who deceived them, was thrown into the lake of burning sulfur , where the beast and the false prophet had been thrown. They will be tormented day and night for ever and ever .  Revelation 20:10

Then death and Hades were thrown into the lake of fire. The lake of fire is the second death. If anyone's name was not found written in the book of life, he was thrown into the lake of fire.  Revelation 20:14&15

(Jesus Christ speaking)  "If your hand causes you to sin, cut it off. It is better for you to enter life maimed than with two hands to go into hell, where the fire never goes out."   Mark 9:43

For if God did not spare angels when they sinned, but sent them to hell, putting them into gloomy dungeons to be held for judgment; If he condemned the cities of Sodom and Gomorrah by burning them to ashes, and made them an example of what is going to happen to the ungodly; then the Lord knows how to rescue godly men from trials and to hold the unrighteous for the day of judgment, while continuing their punishment. This is especially true of those who follow the corrupt desire of the sinful nature and despise authority.  2 Peter 2:4, 6&10

(Jesus Christ speaking)  "Where their worm does not die, and the fire is not quenched."    Mark 9:48

(Jesus Christ speaking)  "Not everyone who says to me, `Lord, Lord,' will enter the kingdom of heaven, but only he who does the will of my Father who is in heaven.Many will say to me on that day, `Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name, and  in your name drive out demons and perform many miracles?' Then I will tell them plainly, `I never knew you.Away from me, you evildoers!'  
Matthew 7:21-24

Someone asked him, "Lord, are only a few people going to be saved?" He (Jesus Christ) said to them, "Make every effort to enter through the narrow door, because many, I tell you, will try to enter and will not be able to. Once the owner of the house gets up and closes the door, you will stand outside knocking and pleading, `Sir, open the door for us.' "But he will answer, `I don't know you or where you come from.' "Then you will say, `We ate and drank with you, and you taught in our streets.' "But he will reply, `I don't know you or where you come from. Away from me, all you evildoers!' "There will be weeping there, and gnashing of teeth, when you see Abraham, Isaac and Jacob and all the prophets in the kingdom of God, but you yourselves thrown out.   People will come from east and west and north and south, and will take their places at the feast in the kingdom of God" .  Luke 13: 23-29
